The Story:

Four Years Before The Events of StarCraft

As the reach of the Terran factions expand outward into space, the fringe planets become increasingly lawless.

Mercenary corporations spring up, offering to handle the dirty work of the highest bidder.

You have just been promoted to the rank of Magistrate of one such group: The LifeForce Mercenary Corporation.

Sometimes you'll be fanning the flames of war.

Sometimes you'll be extinguishing them.

Will you go through with your assignment, no matter how grim? Or will you hold the moral high ground?

Your destiny is yours alone.

Meet Your LifeForce Commanders

Decker and L.A.R.A. are integral to every mission, whether they’re on the battlefield or not.

As Magistrate, you’ll have opportunities to follow one while disregarding the other.

Your decisions will not only affect the mission objectives, but also have impacts on the future that you could never imagine…

FAQs

How do I play LifeForce?

Download LifeForce and follow the very simple instructions. LifeForce is currently not available on Battle.net.

Will LifeForce be on Battle.net?

Yes but not at launch. By far your best experience will come from playing through direct download. You can't save/load on Battle.net, and with some missions being up to 2 hours, this can make the game frustrating. Doing "take control" from a replay is disabled because it creates game-breaking bugs.

Is LifeForce free to play?

Yes! It's 100% free and always will be. If you enjoy this type of content, please consider donating.

What faction do you play as?

You play as the LifeForce Mercenary Corporation, which is of Terran origin. However, LifeForce plays as its own completely unique race with a different army and tech tree.

What's the format of the campaign?

Each mission has "macro" (base building) and "micro" (fixed force infiltration) segments, making each mission more like two full missions in one.

What makes LifeForce special?

Aside from devoting a truly insane amount of time polishing, balancing and perfecting LifeForce, I also utilized tons of brand new models, weapons, abilities and gameplay elements. The script and dialogue were crafted by a professional writer (also me) and proofread for clarity and cohesion countless times. The campaign also uses "Bank Data," which saves your upgrade points as well as your story choices.

Are there different difficulties?

There are 4 difficulties: Normal, Hard, Brutal and Insane.

How long does it take to beat LifeForce?

Roughly 12-18 hours.

10 Missions across 9 maps? How does that work?

An optional bonus mission returns to one of the maps.

Is there custom voice acting and/or music?

Many of the heroes have 100% unique unit response lines. There is also music from beyond StarCraft II used. The dialogue from the briefing/story does not have voice acting.

Who made LifeForce?

I'm Bilxor and I created LifeForce as a passion project. It took me thousands of hours because I learned the Editor from being a total newbie to finally being able to bring this concept to life!

How'd you stay motivated to finish this epic project?

I've been a fan of StarCraft and Blizzard for decades and I've always been creative by default. After playing all the StarCraft II campaigns, I decided to create the custom campaign I wish I would have found. LifeForce has been a frustrating, rewarding, and unbelievably time-consuming. But if you enjoy it, it was worth it! 🙂
